Typically, present on the left side because of different venous drainage of the left testicle but could be on the right side too or bilateral. Varicocele is frequently diagnosed in teenagers but if it missed in older age it can cause problems with fertility or testicular pain.

Does varicocele require mandatory surgical repair?

Only if it causes chronic testicular discomfort or when semen analysis is abnormal and patients have issues with fertility.
